Evening....

SA has rain this weekend....really we had major thunder and lightening storms! Does rain bring dead grass back to life?!! Don't think so....

Paul had his 15 month checkup this week. 32 1/2 inches long...88th percentile...24lbs 2ozs--48th percentile and seems to be doing ok. Two of his bottom teeth have some tartar and we need to try and get rid of that..or he may need to see a pediatric dentist---oh great!

My friend Linda from church---who was also present in the labor room and OR room with Master Paul joined this crazy world..sent me a really funny email in response to the picture below I sent today. "Where did he get that t-shirt? And who told him that?" XOXOXOXO This was my response to her... "funny sister......if you MUST know...we saw it at a cool store and he squeeled with delight and looked at me and smiled..so I knew he believed it to be true and we purchased it right then!!"

Danny has taken on a huge deal....taking the CFP class. Certified Financial Planner. It is a very special designation. Class is every Thurs night from 6-9 for 18 months--YES, 18 months! And they say in order to pass all the VERY difficult exams, you must commit to studying 2000 hours over the next 18 months. AND, they have an elective study "club" that will meet every Tues night. So---I have my Stephen Minister training on Monday nights, and Danny will be gone Tues and Thurs nights! So, I think we'll be scheduling time together--more date nights!
In fact, Danny is NOT watching football..he is studying. I am headed to bed in about 30 min.

Blessings to all!

Ok, this is going to be a venting session. Sort of....

Paul is now 15 months old and at no real fault of his--still takes a bottle of milk 3 times a day. He rarely uses sippy cups. He has started to learn them..but it's been SLOW! He is also a picky eater. He will not eat any adult food..except for crackers and yogurt. If you give him anything..put it in his mouth for him..he scrapes it out and throws it on the ground..for Oreo. When he goes into his highchair...Miss Oreo knows.....ooh, I am going to lie right here under his feet cause he WILL throw me food!

We're going to the pediatrician tomorrow am for his 15 month checkup and I have lots of questions. He has been on Singulair and claritin since about May and until recently did not have any congestion/runny nose/ear infections. Has had it all the last few weeks and still has congestion..which I think makes it harder to try solid foods..but what do I know.... HELP ME!!

I know he weighs 24 lbs..he did 2 weeks ago, but we're anxious to see how tall he is..cause we think he is a tall boy. He was 31" in June...we'll see.

I had my Stephen Minister training tonight--4th class. Going well. It is every Mon night thru November and a Sat session the end of this month.

I had MOPS today..Mothers of Pre-Schoolers. We go from 9:30 - 12 noon twice a month. Child care is provided. Paul has fun playing with 6-7 other little friends his age. Today we had bible study and then a craft--made sretchy bracelets with colorful beads! Fun morning!!

Tomorrow after his dr appt--MDO..Mother's Day Out/School--he goes every Tues for 5 hours and is really enjoying being with other kids his age. He loves to play!!!

I wish you could all see how much fun he and have during the day here at home. He especially loves Oreo and has this incredible laugh when she runs around the house---playing fetch with Mommy. She is oh so careful not to run Paul over. Sometimes she gets going fast and Paul moves around and Oreo has to put on the brakes on the carpet--you see these nail marks/lines in the carpet...too cute really.

Danny is watching NFL right now--BIG surprise! NOT!

On a more serious note--one of Danny's childhood friends is Brian Lew. He and Abbie got married last Oct in Vegas--a fun trip! Anyway, his Dad --Nann Lew--has a blood clot on his brain and underwent surgery this afternoon. We heard from Barney--another childhood friend that it went well and Mr. Lew was in recovery. Danny will call Brian in the AM to check on his Dad. Brian and Abbie live in OR and flew in Sun night late/early Mon morning really. Please keep Mr. Lew and the family in your prayers. Thank you.

Ciao!

Howdy ya'll......it's Sept. 13--Danny's 41st birthday. The day started with my loving husband getting up with the toddler around 6:15AM. Gave him some milk they the young lad went back to sleep until 8---then I got up.

Paul played and watched 2 Baby Einstein DVD's..while Mommy showered and dressed. Then it was off to the chiropractor for adjustments.

Sadly, one of our parishoners died of a heart attack--age 43. The funeral was today and I am on the funeral "food" committee. So, after the dr Paul and I made our way to HEB to buy some fruit trays. Off to church to deliver the food to Janet.

Back home...nap time for Master Paul. While he was asleep I was up to the usual--laundry, cleaning, emailing, and drinking water. After his nap we were on our way to pick up Mary Esther--Danny's Mom. She is in town from Houston. I took her to At The Cross Gift boutique where she bought 2 wall crosses--for the new house in Houston.

Dinner--RED LOBSTER. Paul has never eaten so much all at one time..about 10 graham cookies....6 ozs baby food, about 6 saltines and 4 ozs of milk. He was shoving the crackers in his mouth then I was making him smile and laugh--mouth full of crackers..pretty cute really. If you did not know-Paul's Mommy is kinda silly sometimes.

I am tired and need to get ready for bed. Paul and I have a big day tomorrow--playing, eating and maybe a visit to Gymboree to spend a gift card! Good night!

Sept. 6

Evening---almost morning here in SA. Paul and I played this morning and watched Sesame Street and Clifford. We met my friend Tina for lunch at Chester's--yummy burgers!

Back home for more play time and we read a few books. Paul has taking a liking to chasing Miss Oreo around the house. He has this wonderful belly laugh--some of you have heard it.

Made dinner..then I was off to Tina's house to watch Zach and Makayla so Tina and Todd could go out to dinner--celebrating their wedding anniversary. I read 3 stories to Miss Makayla and then ran around the house looking for her blankie--she HAS to have it. Finally found it on Zach's bed. She was grateful and went off to sleep....

Then Zach and I read in his room.....an interesting book on bugs---oh the joys of a boy. I learned a lot about all kinds of bugs. There is one bug --forget the name already--but when it senses danger--it shoots of a poisionous gas from its bottom----that is exactly what was written in this book. I told Zach I can shoot off gas too--from my bottom. Tina probably won't like that I told him that--but he knew what I meant. And another lovely bug lays its eggs in poop so that when the eggs hatch the new baby bug has plenty of poop to eat--yucky!!! Again, a real fun book before sleep. Anyway, another book about the ocean and then off to sleep for young Zach. He started kinder this week. As I left his room he told me night and to kiss Paul for him when I got home. So sweet....

Rain today in SA--yeah!!! Paul went to Mother's Day Out for the first time ever....at St. Paul's Christian Day School. Miss Helen and Miss Janet are his teachers--lovely ladies! He will go every Tuesday thru May. So, I dropped him off this morning. I then met my friend Tina and her daughter Makayla for breakfast. My other friend Jena joined us a little later. Had a good time.....couldn't even finish my breakfast. Then, Jena and I went to the La Cantera shops. I had to return something and she wanted to visit VS. Here is the synopsis of the next hour...

ok, most of you now how silly I am right.....k..well, today was Paul's 1st day at Mother's Day Out. So---perfect time to hit the La Cantera Mall. Jena and I went around noon and when she was in one store --I walked outside and this really TALL handsome man was coming towards me..he head his head down but I knew it was David Robinson. Tina--u do know who that is right?!

Anyway, when he got within 3 feet of me he looked up smiled at me and said hello...and naturally I smiled and said hello. Such a sweet smile. Went to find Jena....as we left outside of Nordstrom...I jokingly said..let's drive over to where I think he parked (cause he was coming from the parking lot) and see if we can find his car. As we drove--Jena said--you know what he drives..and I said no--but how hard can it be to find what might be his car...we laughed and I knew I was being silly..UNTIL..we turned down one lane..and VOILA..there David was..walking in front of my car..back to his car. Jena wanted me to stop..and as she was trying to roll down her window I was trying to lock the window...for some reason I was embarrassed. I really wasn't stalking him...

Anyway..we turned and Jena waved to him from inside my car...he did see us and as his body was mostly in his car, his pretty head sticking over the top of his car..he so sweetly waved...almost like a little child and flashed us a nice smile. Then....as we laughed and drove out of the parking lot..he followed us....all the way past Six Flags..then of course he turned left at I-10--prob to go home and we turned right. And all this time--I had my camera in the car. We should have stopped and asked him for a picture...oh well...

Maybe you had to be there...but it was and is rather funny.

Picked up Master Paul at 2:30---he smiled real big when he saw me and cruised over to be picked up. Such a sweet boy. Miss Helen said he did well today..yeah!

When we got home--he got to experience his favorite thing..getting snot sucked out of his nose...poor baby. I know our neighbors must wonder why he is screaming! :-) But it is a necessary evil, as I don't want all that stuff to drain in his ears and down his throat.

Daddy gave him a bath and we put him to bed at 7:45. He went right to sleep! Danny is doing the dinner dishes...so great!! I am very blessed. My plan tonight is to rest and get to sleep by 10:30..God willing.....until next time.....ciao

Sunday, September 03, 2006

Well, I had another sleepless night---oh well.... Danny let me sleep this morning from 6:30 - 9:30 so that was great!

I wanted to tell you that Paul is going to have 2 more cousins in 2007! My step-brother and his wife are having child #2 in February. They are moving from Scottsdale to Seattle as Brad has a new job with Starbucks! And my step-sister, Nikki, and her husband are also having child #2--in March. Jake just turned 1 in August so as my friend Stacey knows--they will have their hands full. :-) Especially if it's another boy..right Stace?! They recently moved from FL to CO.

Paul is getting sleepy...must be the meds he has had today....... One of us will stay home with him and the other can go to church at 5:30....we usually flip for it! Cause we both wish to go! :-)

Uh oh--here comes the chatter box...crawling in to see his Mommy.......and Oreo too is right behind. Paul says kroRG.rfkpejwhnkmki'i'/iew ga ga ga ga ga ga ga

Sept. 2 again

Most of you know that I have fibromyalgia...and I have not really been doing what I need to do the last few years to get rid of it..or at least get it better under control. Now I have hypothyroidism and my cortisol level is high. All three make me feel lethargic, cannot lose weight, sleepless nights, chronic pain, etc. I have become committed to doing what I need to do....exercise, drinks lots of water...not too much refined sugar..more fish and veggies. Really a way of life we all should follow. I told my dr---"but I love sweets and red meat!" And for some reason it is hard for me to drink water all day long. UGH! I know God will help me and walk with me.

I have to say we had this cajun fish thing tonight---frozen and I baked it in the oven..it was SOOOOOO fishy--I almost gagged! I had one bite and that was it. So I ate my salad, broccoli and tomatoes! Oh and water....and a beer with low carbs!

Danny is STILL watching college football...what game is it? I really do not care....

September 2, 2006

Master Paul is sick with 2 ear infections. He is on meds and seems to be feeling better today as he was much more perky and played all day long!

Danny watched college football all day long! Texas won---easily I might add.

I ran errands and did some cleaning in our laundry room and kitchen. One room at a time I have to tell myself.....
